How We Work
How we work
CYMAZ’s work is informed from the expressed needs of children and young people and those agencies working with them. We know that people are more receptive to learning when they feel valued, safe and where trust has been developed. We have witnessed thousands of children and young people’s personal and musical journeys, have seen the transformation of children and young people who have disengaged and been labelled as ‘hard to reach’ into peer mentors, accomplished songwriters/musicians/performers whose love of music has helped them turn their lives around.
External evaluation reports from Bath Spa University and the University of Central England have confirmed that as a result of music making with CYMAZ:
- their self esteem rockets
- they develop a “can do” attitude
- they re-engage with their community and school
- the disengaged person reengages
- becomes a positive role model
- other young people are encouraged to copy them
- peer mentoring leads to increased self esteem
- their parents and teachers start to see them in a different light and treat them with more respect.
How we can help you
CYMAZ would now like to broaden the scope of its operations and is actively seeking partners:
If you work with or care for young people, in any capacity, aged 0-18 years, and would like an exploratory chat about how your organization might benefit from working in partnership with CYMAZ, please contact us
