CYMAZ Radio Official Launch

CYMAZ Radio Official Launch – Wednesday 3rd November 2010

On Wednesday 3rd November CYMAZ officially launched CYMAZ Radio, a new internet radio station run by young people for young people. As part of National Youth Music Week, about 150 young people and some invited guests came along to Livewire Youth Music Project in Saltash to celebrate the launch of this exciting new initiative and be part of the very first live internet radio broadcast. Kicking off at 7pm, the hour-long broadcast featured fresh young talent from Cornwall, messages of support from around the country and snippets of podcasts already created by young people. The CYMAZ Radio Station Manager, Steve Cantrill AKA ‘Moss’ said “I’m so proud that the launch of CYMAZ Radio was such a huge success. It represents the culmination of 2 years of research, development and dedication by our small team and masses of inspiring creativity by many young people in our CYMAZ Radio ‘Hubs’ across the county. We’re now looking forward to our expansion to new venues, ensuring that we truly represent the voices and music of young Cornwall.” The live broadcast, which was tuned into by young people and supporters across Cornwall and the rest of England was a lively mix of musical genres and was expertly hosted by Megan Chapman, Ross Creber and Bryn Evans. Megan said “it’s great to see so many young people of all ages coming together, the bands were brilliant, great music, and the fans created a brilliant atmosphere. I loved the whole event!”
